10 YEAR OLD COMETS SOAR TO VICTORY!!!

The 10 year old Comets got off to a good start with a 20-0 win against Western Brown on Saturday, 9/6/08.  The Comets were lead on offense by rookie tailback Caylum Hayes with a 40 yard Touchdown run late in the 4th quarter and receiver Jordan Romes with a 21 yard Touchdown pass from Quarterback Trenton Macke.  The offensive line played very well.  They are Harrison Smith, Cole Sutton, Phillip Farist, Brady Hoeper, and Kyle Ervin.

Comet offensive stats are as follows: QB Trenton Macke 6-13 for 113 yards 1 TD and 3 Ints; Rushing: Caylum Hayes 3 carries for 56 yards and 1 TD, Jordan Romes 5 carries for 12 yards and 1 TD, Alex Mitrakas 3 carries for 10 yards, Trenton Macke 4 for 1 yard; Receiving: Jordan Romes 3 catches for 69 yards and 1 TD, Alex Mitrakas 2 for 12 yards, and Brandon “Doc” Evans 1 for 32 yards.

The defense was lead by Free agent signee Brandon “Doc” Evans with 7 tackles, LB Gary Traub, and DT Andru Waters each with 4 tackles.  Also contributing on Defense was OLB Alex Mitrakas causing a fumble, CB Kenny Wead and LB Nate Saylor each with a fumble recovery. We played good team defense.  The shutout was saved when speedy safety Mykell Williams chased down Western Brown's RB at the 3 yard line as time expired.

I’m proud of all of the players on the team.
