Football & Cheerleading
Ages 5-11
53rd Anniversary
Sycamore Athletic Club has sponsored youth football and cheerleading for the past 52 years and will again sponsor five football and cheerleading squads for the upcoming 2008 season. The 2007 season was again extremely successful for the SAC Comets. Three teams made it to the Playoffs; Two teams made it to the Super Bowl, and One team won the Super Bowl!
The goal of the SAC program is to teach children the fundamentals of football and cheerleading, while also teaching commitment and the importance of teamwork. We provide experienced coaches who encourage every football player and cheerleader to seek out their best while not putting individual interests above those of the team. Our objective is to field competitive teams and squads in all games while developing each individual player and cheerleader to the greatest of their potential. SAC strives to educate local area youth in football by playing against the best competition available. We play in the Southern Ohio Youth Football Association, Inc. (SOYFAI) which is considered to be the finest football league in the tri-state area. Our children are outfitted in the finest equipment and uniforms available. Practice starts at the end of July and is held from 6 to 8 pm every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at the E.H. Greene School. Games are played on Saturdays, beginning at 10:15 am, lasting about 75 minutes each. The season begins the week of Labor Day, with a Labor Day Bowl Game at the Sycamore Stadium. The regular season concludes in late October and our teams frequently continue on to the Playoffs and Super Bowl, which concludes in early November.
